About the role
The payments team owns critical product surfaces that enable global payments for creators. As a payments engineer, you will build systems that run high volume checkout flows and support businesses getting paid. That includes capturing payments, verifying identity, managing balances, and transferring money with strong performance and security. We take reliability and trust seriously.
What you'll do
- Improve and optimize payments surfaces processing billions of transaction volume
- Build payments features and components that allow developers to easily integrate into our platform
- Increase our payments reach enabling more payment methods for creators
- Write world-class developer docs and interactive playgrounds for developers using our SDKs and components
- Build clean interfaces and APIs for frictionless payments operations
- Experiment with ways to make payments easier and more accessible
What you need
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a software development role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with imperfect information
- Curiosity and drive to continuously seek ways to make the product better
- Ability to ship fast, reliable software with a high attention to detail
- Experience with Next.js and modern frontend best practices
- Excellent communication skills
Nice-to-haves
- Startup experience or experience as a technical founder
- You have a designers eye and notice when spacing is off or when flows could be simpler
- Have built SDK components that lived inside other people's products
- Comfortable with financial systems and know how money moves
- Experience with Ruby on Rails
