About the role

This role is a Staff Infrastructure Engineer who will report to the VP of Engineering and will be responsible primarily for backend, storage, and scaling solutions to support our explosive growth.

What does the role look like?

As a Staff Infrastructure Engineer at Whop, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our engineering team can ship code efficiently and reliably. Your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain the infrastructure that supports our rapidly growing platform. This includes building and managing pipelines for code deployment, testing, and production, and providing robust support to the engineering team to facilitate seamless code shipping. You will be deeply involved in AWS, Terraform, and setting up new services, ensuring our infrastructure scales with our growth.

The role requires a broad range of knowledge to tackle diverse daily challenges and strong soft skills in prioritization and organization to manage multiple requests and ideas effectively. Self-sufficiency is essential, as the ability to handle incidents with excellent communication and optimism is crucial. Additionally, balancing the demands of fast-paced growth and scaling with technical precision is a key aspect of the job.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in AWS, including ECS and RDS.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
• Strong experience with Ruby and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design and maintain scalable infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills to support and collaborate with product engineers.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Typescript, NextJS, React
