About the Role

We are hiring a Social Media Lead to report to our VP of Growth. This is an on-site role based in our Brooklyn, New York office.

What does the role look like?

You’ll be joining Whop as a Social Media Lead, directly supporting our VP of Growth. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional balance of analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with an acute desire to build in a fast-paced / ambiguous start-up environment and drive operational improvements.

The primary objective of the Social Media Lead is to develop and execute innovative, culturally relevant social media campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and growth. This role focuses on creating viral content that captures the attention of Whop's target audience and achieves significant PR mentions

Your first 90 days will look like the following:

  • Within 30 days, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of Whop's brand, target audience, and current social media presence. Begin assembling the social media team.
  • Within 60 days, you will finalize and start implementing the overarching social media strategy. Launch the first major social media campaign aimed at generating significant engagement.
  • Within 90 days, you will establish a strong social media presence across all platforms, achieve initial PR mentions, and report on the performance of the first campaigns. Continuously refine the strategy based on performance data.

Who you are

  • You’ve been responsible for building the team: Assembling and leading a team of social media managers across various platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit).
  • You have developed comprehensive Social Media Strategies.
  • Executing Viral Campaigns is your jam: You love launching initial campaigns that generate significant buzz, engagement, and cultural relevance.
  • Driving PR Mentions: You’re the person constantly creating content and campaigns that not only engage the audience but also attract media attention and PR mentions.
  • You possess platform mastery: You have gained a deep understanding of the unique dynamics and best practices of each social media platform to optimize content for maximum impact.

What you will be doing

  • Transforming Social Media Presence: "You are able to bring us from a fragmented social media presence to a cohesive, high-engagement brand that captures cultural relevance and drives significant PR mentions."
  • Viral Campaign Development: "You have figured out how to create and execute viral social media campaigns that resonate with our audience and manage the day-to-day operations of social media content creation and community engagement."
  • Leading the social media team, providing direction, and ensuring alignment with Whop’s overall marketing strategy.
  • Developing and implementing platform-specific strategies for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit.
  • Creating and curating engaging content that is culturally relevant and designed to go viral.
  • Monitoring social media trends, tools, and applications, and applying that knowledge to increase the company’s social media presence and efficacy.
  • Crafting a cohesive strategy that aligns with Whop's brand values and business objectives, ensuring all social media efforts are integrated and impactful.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in social media marketing, with a proven track record of managing successful and culturally relevant campaigns.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing end-to-end lifecycle marketing campaigns.
  • Previous experience building and managing automated email marketing campaigns using tools like Iterable or Braze.
  • Strong background in using data to drive marketing strategies and optimize campaign performance.
  • Experience with advanced segmentation techniques and implementing personalized marketing strategies to enhance customer engagement.
  • Social Media Management Tools: Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, or similar
  • Experience scheduling posts, managing multiple social media accounts, tracking engagement metrics.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, or similar Usage: Measuring the performance of social media campaigns, tracking key metrics, and generating reports. For content creation, you’ve used Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), or similar
  • Experience designing engaging visuals and videos for social media posts.
  • You’ve used Brandwatch, Mention, or similar
  • Experience working closely with product, sales, and analytics teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • Preference for a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
