About the Role

We are hiring a Corporate Finance Manager to report to the Head of Finance and Operations. This is an on-site role based in our Brooklyn, New York office. We are open to remote for the right candidate.

What does the role look like?

You will play a significant role across financial planning and analysis, strategic and corporate finance for a high growth marketplace startup. You will serve as a trusted partner to the Head of Finance and have the opportunity to gain exposure to other elements of the business over time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support long-term financial and strategic planning process, including ownership of revenue planning model
  • Establish deep relationships with the sales and marketing teams to articulate and help deliver on the targets underlying financial forecast
  • Provide insights and thought leadership as a key partner in driving the business forward
  • Develop a strong understanding of our customer base and their operations to help provide proper context to forecasts, strategies, and decision making
  • Perform financial and operational analysis across products, regions, and customers to understand ROI, margins, opportunity cost, and unit economics
  • Gather, consolidate, and analyze operating and financial results including preparing internal and external reporting deliverables, analyzing trends, drivers, and forecast vs. actual variances
  • Support executive team in the preparation of presentations for internal and external stakeholders including the board of directors and investors

Who you are

You are someone who loves finance and numbers. You have experience with technology-enabled business models and how they translate into financial and operating forecasts, accounting concepts and other implications for tax and compliance. You have experience working in corporate finance at a fast-growing company and have are interested in working as part of a lean team to lead strategic finance initiatives, budgeting processes, management reporting, and other ad hoc operating and finance projects.

You understand what “best-in-class” for an FP&A function looks like, and have the ambition to execute toward that. You understand how to lead budgeting and financial forecasting processes, working independently with various senior stakeholders at the company and asking the right questions to build both a detailed company budget and high level long-range plan.

You are also intellectually curious and eager to work alongside other business leaders to drive strategic decisioning as the finance counterpart. You have extraordinary attention to detail, the capacity to work under ambiguity, and the ability to execute with strong judgment. You are a clear and excellent communicator, both verbal and written. You can easily translate technical financial concepts into layman's terms for a broader audience. You pride yourself on being a swiss army knife in a finance org.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 4-6 years of experience, with experience in investment banking or management consulting preferred
  • Experience with financial and strategic planning
  • Excellent financial modeling skills with the ability to synthesize complex operational and financial structures into structured frameworks and models
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Extreme attention to detail with an innate drive to solve problems creatively
  • Highly motivated self-starter attitude with a desire to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Start-up and high-growth company experience is a plus but not required
