Lead Forward Deployed Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our customers and our core engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-ownership, cross-functional environments, and enjoys building custom technical solutions that directly impact customer success and product adoption.
As a Lead FDE, you will deploy, customize, and scale our core platform to meet specific client needs. You’ll work closely with customers and backend engineers to translate business problems into elegant, robust technical solutions - often deploying into production environments and solving problems in real time.
About the Role:
Lead complex client implementations from scoping to deployment.
Translate customer requirements into scalable, production-ready code and infrastructure.
Develop custom features, APIs, and integrations tailored to enterprise client needs.
Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Product to shape and deliver deeply technical solutions during pre- and post-sales cycles.
Debug and resolve customer issues rapidly, often working onsite or embedded within client teams.
Build tools and frameworks to reduce deployment friction and improve future implementation velocity.
Act as the voice of the customer, influencing product roadmap based on field feedback and patterns.
Mentor junior FDEs and lead cross-functional technical efforts across customer verticals.
About You:
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in customer-facing or deployment-oriented roles.
Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, or similar).
Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and deployment workflows (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Comfort with ambiguity, fast iteration cycles, and high-impact decision making.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Bonus: prior experience working in early-stage startups or building internal deployment frameworks.

The base salary for this role ranges from $145,000 to $240,000, depending on experience, skill set, and fit. We also offer equity and benefits as part of our total compensation package. Final offers may vary based on experience and qualifications - we’re always open to exceptional talent.
