SignalFire | Head of Events

The Head of Events is an integral part of the SignalFire Marketing team, leading the detailed planning and execution of SignalFire’s external events, including Marketing events, dinners, and occasional portfolio-focused/AI Lab events. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will use your deep strategic event experience to craft our events strategy and work across the team to advise team members on the best event strategy to meet firm objectives. You will ensure the execution of our events is top-notch, creates memorable experiences for attendees, and build campaigns as a key part of our integrated Marketing strategy. You will combine your creativity and passion for creating differentiated events with a targeted, data-driven approach to ensure high quality attendance and ROI.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

You will be successful in this role if you can develop a strong events strategy that drives measurable results and increase visibility and investment opportunities for the firm while building a scalable, tightly-integrated journey for attendees so SignalFire is top of mind post-event.

  • World-class project management and communication skills, with experience working across multiple teams and stakeholders - including senior leadership
  • Track record partnering with advising and influencing senior team members on event strategy, planning, and execution
  • Deep experience building scalable events programs and developing processes and SOPs for maximum efficiency
  • Data-driven and analytical with strong background in setting KPIs and goals and measuring event-influenced ROI
  • You are energized by building from scratch and thrive in ambiguous, high-paced environments that rely on your unique expertise
  • Highly entrepreneurial and creative to create memorable and impactful experiences
  • 8-10 years leading events programs, preferably at a high-growth B2B tech company, working in concert with a broader marketing team and in partnership with sales leaders and their teams

Responsibilities:

Your goal is to create an industry-leading events engine that positions SignalFire within the founder, LP, and broader VC ecosystem. You will drive our events strategy and raise the bar for our event quality and approach while enabling the rest of the firm - from fundraising from net-new LPs to sourcing new deals.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to develop an overall events strategy, budget, calendar, and execution roadmap to ensure a thoughtful, planful events program in support of our brand-building and deal flow
  • Design event plans, develop content, and work closely with the Head of Marketing, Head of Content, and the broader team to build integrated marketing campaigns around large events
  • Drive event execution across the entire event lifecycle—from crafting unique, valuable experiences and programming including the recruitment of high-quality speakers and panelists, content curation, and moderation, to driving promotion and high quality registrations, to post-event follow-up and nurturing
  • Design trainings and other resources to enable team members hosting and attending events
  • Work with investment team members develop a successful speaker’s program, including identifying target conferences and speaking opportunities, strengthening speaking platforms based on event specifics, and organizing adjacent events
  • Develop clear KPIs and measurement systems, design team processes, and build automation and data pipelines to analyze, track, and report event ROI; drive recommendations and improvements to increase outcomes
  • Design and build systems and processes for efficient execution of our events strategy at scale. Use your event expertise to create repeatable playbooks for events of all different formats and scales
  • Build relationships with SignalFire prospective founders and portfolio companies at events, using their feedback to shape and refine our events approach

Location: San Francisco, CA

The salary range for this position is $180-220k, which is reflective of a position based in San Francisco, CA. This salary will be subject to geographic adjustment if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
