About the Role
The Chief Product Officer (CPO) provides clear product vision, strategy and technical leadership to drive the company’s product development that aligns with and company’s goals. The CPO oversees the planning, development, and deployment of technology solutions, ensuring they deliver high value to stakeholders while maintaining exceptional levels of quality, dependability, and security. CPO manages the entire product and development team, fostering a culture of innovation, dependability, accountability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Leadership & Strategy
- Ultimate responsibility for product vision, product development and delivery and lifecycle management.
- Oversee product roadmap including product functional requirements gathering and translation into development guidance.
- Drive product innovation, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring the product portfolio delivers sustainable value.
- Oversee software architecture, development, and deployment processes.
- Establish and maintain best practices for technology development and deployment.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and market trends to enhance products and maintain a competitive edge.
- Work closely with CEO, CCO and other executive leadership members to understand customer and market needs and translate into product to support company growth.
Product Development & Roadmap
- Creating and maintaining a clear product roadmap, prioritizing features, and ensuring alignment across the organization.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities where Product adds value, propose suitable solutions and outline their benefits.
- Oversee the creation of mockups, design specifications, and development requirements.
- Ensure a positive user experience through design and user interface efforts.
- Oversee product development cycle, from identifying needs and gathering requirements, through product release and maintenance.
- Use data to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and track progress against goals.
Product and Development Team Functional Leadership
- Oversee, mentor, and lead a high functioning Product and Development team.
- Ensure product design meets industry requirements including security, privacy and reliability.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments, penetration tests, vulnerability scans, and disaster recovery tests to ensure product reliability.
- Manage product team budgets, expenditures, and resource allocation.
- Oversee vendor qualifications and manage relationships with technical vendors.
Customer & Stakeholder Support
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and support audits for sponsors, sites, and the FDA.
- Support sponsor qualification and audit activities.
- Work closely with colleagues, customers, and partners to create high-value products.
- Support company sales and growth by demonstrating product capabilities and maintaining competitive advantages.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven leadership experience in a senior product / technology role.
- Proven success record overseeing product development and technical operations.
- Excellent strategic thinking, market sensing, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience managing teams, setting goals, and driving performance improvements.
- Deep understanding of security, compliance, and risk management best practices.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with executives, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of business principles and how products contribute to overall company success
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to clearly articulate the product vision and strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.
