About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve Form Health’s modern data platform as we transition from a managed vendor to in-house data operations. This role is critical to scaling our analytics and operational reporting capabilities as we rapidly grow our patient base, and will ensure we have a robust, reliable, and compliant data foundation. The position will report directly to our Data & AI Lead, and will partner closely with product, analytics, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and maintain high-quality data pipelines and models, and to integrate new data sources at scale.
What You Will Do:
- Own the end-to-end data platform – manage ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines across internal, third-party, and healthcare data sources (including EHRs, HIEs, and FHIR/HL7 interfaces) into Snowflake, targeting >99% uptime and accuracy
- Design, implement, and optimize dbt models (staging, intermediate, and reporting) to support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows
- Integrate new data sources using tools such as Fivetran, Meltano and Segment
- Develop ingestion pipelines for healthcare data exchange standards (FHIR, HL7) to reliably process and normalize EHR and HIE data
- Build and maintain orchestration and monitoring for data workflows using tools like Prefect, ensuring timely delivery and proactive error detection
- Collaborate with analytics and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
- Maintain data governance and compliance (HIPAA, PHI handling) through documentation, validation checks, secure cloud infrastructure, and close collaboration with security teams to ensure best practices for data protection and access control
- Continuously improve infrastructure and processes to reduce manual intervention and increase data reliability
About You:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with modern cloud-based data stacks
- Expert in SQL and strong experience with dbt (Cloud or Core), with proven ability to implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and CircleCI to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of data workflows
- Interested in optimizing workflows through AI, including intelligent tooling and AI integration into core products
- Skilled in building and monitoring data pipelines using orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow)
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (or similar cloud data warehouses) and ingestion tools like Fivetran or Meltano
- Comfortable working across AWS and GCP environments
- Understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and compliance in healthcare or other regulated industries (HIPAA experience strongly preferred)
- Self-driven, collaborative, and able to operate in a fast-paced startup environment
- Preference for candidates located in the Boston, MA area
More about Form Health’s benefits:
- Competitive salary and equity in a high growth start-up
- Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision)
- 401k program
- Flexible work schedules and paid time off
- Paid parental leave
