About Faros

At Faros, we are building the engineering intelligence platform for the AI era. We help engineering organizations understand the impact of AI on software delivery while providing the operational context that enables AI agents to operate with greater accuracy, relevance, and trust in complex enterprise environments. Our platform is used by some of the most sophisticated engineering teams in the world, ranging from fast-growing technology companies to F500 enterprises. We believe the future of software development will be built by humans and AI working together, and we're building the foundation that makes that possible.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help us expand our pipeline and target strategic accounts.

We’re looking for early-career individuals interested in starting a career in sales or marketing. As an SDR at Faros, you’ll identify new business opportunities and build strong customer relationships, helping grow and maintain our customer base.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, customer-focused, and results-driven, with strong communication skills. Your goal is to turn opportunities into long-term, trusted partnerships.

What We Value

  • Ownership: At Faros, we prioritize individual responsibility and ownership, and we trust you to manage your time effectively and focus on high-impact tasks. You’ll have the information and autonomy to make smart decisions about your priorities.

  • Teamwork: Success at Faros is a team effort. We operate with the belief that putting the team’s interests first leads to collective success, and we encourage collaboration at every level.

  • Continuous Learning: Start-ups are constantly evolving, and so are you. You’ll be expected to adapt to new scenarios, overcome challenges, and thrive in a dynamic environment that fosters professional growth.

About the Role

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you’ll work closely with our full-cycle sales team to generate new business opportunities. You’ll learn to excel at multithreaded prospecting - combining direct outreach, social selling, and nurture campaigns to secure qualified meetings with VP- and C-level decision-makers.

We see our SDRs as AEs in training. You’ll receive hands-on coaching and sales training designed to help you master the craft of enterprise selling and build a strong foundation for a career in tech GTM.

We’re looking for someone who is driven to hit their targets, creative in how they approach prospects, and constantly looking to learn and improve.

This is a hybrid role based in our San Mateo, CA office, with three days per week in person. Candidates must be within commuting distance.

What You’ll Need

  • 1–2 years of sales or customer-facing experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment, with a track record of persistence and follow-through

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and emotional intelligence to engage senior prospects

  • Curiosity and coachability, with a strong desire to learn, seek feedback, and continuously improve

  • Drive and competitiveness, with the work ethic and sense of urgency to consistently prospect, make outbound calls, and create new opportunities

  • Comfort in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with the initiative to work independently, collaborate with the team, and help build the playbook as we grow

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of prospects and follow-ups

  • Interest in B2B SaaS, DevOps, and engineering, and an eagerness to develop a deep understanding of our customers and their challenges

  • Familiarity with modern sales and prospecting tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Nooks, or Gong — or the ability to learn new tools quickly

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect and engage senior decision-makers through direct outreach, social selling, and other channels to book qualified meetings with VP- and C-level executives

  • Manage your pipeline and follow-through using leading sales tools to track prospects, coordinate introductions, and ensure timely follow-up

  • Research target accounts and the market to build a deep understanding of engineering and DevOps leaders, their priorities, and the competitive landscape

  • Partner closely with AEs on account strategy, multithreaded outreach, and creating new opportunities within strategic accounts

  • Experiment with new prospecting approaches and bring creative ideas for messaging, channels, and lead generation to the broader sales team

  • Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships to identify and execute new ways to generate pipeline

  • Help shape our outbound and GTM strategy by turning what you learn from prospects into insights about which accounts to target, what messages resonate, and where we should invest
