EvenUp is on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. We empower personal injury lawyers and victims to get the justice they deserve. Our products enable law firms to secure faster settlements, higher payouts, and better outcomes for victims injured through no fault of their own in vehicle collisions, accidents, natural disasters, and more.

We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com.

We are looking for a Senior People Business Partner (PBP) who wants to bypass traditional HR in favor of deep organizational strategy and high-impact results. This role requires a trusted expert who understands how to scale global standards while remaining hands-on in a foundational environment, ideal for someone who has seen what “great” looks like at scale but still finds joy in building from the ground up. EvenUp offers a high-speed and high-support culture where we prioritize authentic collaboration and collective success. We’re seeking a problem-solver who listens to client needs and builds solutions from first principles rather than from a handbook. As a senior member of the People team, you will act as a strategic advisor to leadership on organizational design, talent development, and workforce planning, driving initiatives that align directly with our business objectives.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation of working at least 3 days a week from one of our office hubs in San Francisco or Toronto.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with EPD (Engineering, Product, Design) and GTM (Go-To-Market) leaders to provide high-impact support on strategic people initiative, organizational planning and leadership coaching.

  • Lead performance cycle, talent reviews and workforce planning to ensure our teams are structured to scale effectively as we grow.

  • Act as a change agent and partner with Leaders and COEs (Total Rewards, L&D, Talent Acquisition) to implement critical company initiatives, including learning platforms, engagement initiatives, etc.

  • Act as a hands-on advisor for complex employee relations issues, mitigating risk while maintaining a people-first, common-sense approach.

  • Drive initiatives that foster inclusion, recognition, and a high-performance environment, ensuring our people practices evolve alongside our AI-driven product focus.

What we look for:

  • 8+ years of total experience in People/HR roles, with at least 6+ years specifically as a People Business Partner.

  • Proven experience supporting GTM or Technical organizations within a fast-moving startup or tech environment.

  • Expertise in organizational design, performance management, and workforce planning with Director and managers .

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in business or a related field is preferred.

  • You're knowledgeable in U.S. and/or Canadian employment law (experience with both is a plus).

  • You're a self-motivated driver who executes from end to end and delivers quantifiable impact.

  • You're a resourceful team player who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and willing to roll up your sleeves to problem solve.

  • You're a modern HR practitioner who understands how to integrate AI into your daily workflow to maximize efficiency.
