CodaMetrix is revolutionizing Revenue Cycle Management with its AI-powered autonomous coding solution, a multi-specialty AI-platform that translates clinical information into accurate sets of medical codes. CodaMetrix’s autonomous coding drives efficiency under fee-for-service and value-based care models and supports improved patient care. We are passionate about getting physicians and healthcare providers away from the keyboard and back to clinical care.

Role Overview

As the Lead Technical Product Manager for Medical Coding AI reporting to the SVP of Product, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of our medical coding models. You will be responsible for defining and executing on the roadmap for our AI/ML models and building the sophisticated internal tooling required to generate high-quality ground truth data and evaluate model performance.

Your mission is to bridge the gap between complex clinical data and high-performing predictive models that automate and audit medical coding at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI/ML Product Definition & Execution: Define and validate requirements of models that predict medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCC), synthesize multi-source data inputs, and categorize clinical cases. This includes defining performance/cost requirements and establishing clear delivery roadmaps.

  • Data Supply Chain: Define and validate requirements and manage the expansion of our "Ground Truth" platform used by medical coding experts to label and annotate data, enabling high inter-annotator agreement and quality.

  • Evaluation & Observability: Build tools and frameworks to measure model performance against coding benchmarks and business KPIs.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Partner with Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, and Coding Quality to ensure models are both technically sound and clinically accurate.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement feedback loops to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and production errors while balancing customer-specific requests against long-term product development.

  • Customer Outcomes: Partner with Commercial teams to measure customer outcomes and ROI and decompose opportunities for improvement into commercial and model-related actions. Construct business cases for model improvement based on potential market impact and opportunity cost.

Qualifications

  • AI/ML Product Experience: Proven track record of shipping ML-based products, specifically involving Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities in the scope of language models or predictive modeling.

  • Infrastructure Mindset: Experience building internal tools, data labeling platforms, and/or model evaluation dashboards.

  • Clinical Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with medical coding systems, EHR data, or clinical documentation (highly preferred).

  • Technical Depth: Ability to engage in deep-dive discussions with Data Scientists regarding model architectures, feature engineering, and data bias.

  • Strategic Execution: Experience taking a product from a messy "raw data" stage to a production-ready, scalable AI solution.
