ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.

We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people [1]. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.

We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.

The Role:

We are hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer to own and evolve our analytics data layer, ensuring that teams across ClassDojo can rely on high-quality, trusted data to make decisions. This role is both foundational and forward-looking. In the near term, you will take ownership of core data models, improve data quality, and ensure consistency across key metrics. Over time, you will play a critical role in shaping how analytics evolves at ClassDojo — introducing AI-assisted workflows and enabling faster, more intuitive access to insights.

You will partner closely with product, engineering, and data stakeholders to define and maintain the datasets that power decision-making. You will also identify opportunities to increase leverage — through better models, improved tooling, and AI-driven capabilities. This is a high-impact role for someone who is excited not just to build reliable data systems, but to rethink how teams interact with data in an AI-enabled future.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and maintain core data models that power product and business insights

  • Improve data quality, consistency, and trust across key datasets and metrics

  • Design scalable, well-structured data models that enable self-serve analytics

  • Introduce and operationalize AI-assisted workflows to accelerate insight generation

  • Identify inefficiencies and build tools or processes to improve analytics velocity

  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into reliable data solutions

  • Contribute to the evolution of analytics practices and standards across the company

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical fundamentals with a forward-looking mindset.

You will be a match if:

  • Have strong experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, and SQL

  • Take ownership of data quality and care deeply about accuracy and consistency

  • Think of datasets and metrics as products that require maintenance and stewardship

  • Are excited about applying AI to improve analytics workflows and insight generation

  • Have a builder mindset and proactively improve systems and processes

  • Can design scalable, maintainable data models and standards

  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
