Branch is on a mission to make insurance more accessible, so more people can be covered. We innovate using data, tech, and automation to simplify insurance from start to finish—we eliminated inaccurate quotes in favor of real prices, created a better way to bundle, and cut unnecessary costs in the traditional insurance process. Then we pass those savings along to our members. Basically, we’re doing insurance the way it was meant to be.

But we didn’t just create the insurance we’ve always wanted, we also created the company we’ve always wanted to work for. As we redefine insurance, we also want to redefine what it means to work in insurance. Find out for yourself.

Branch has a preference for candidates in Ohio, but is open to candidates located in AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MD, MI, MO, NV, NC, OH, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, and WI. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Branch is remote first, with most Branchers choosing to work from home. Our headquarters are located in Columbus, Ohio, where we come together from time to time to build relationships and connect with each other in real life. We also have office space in Columbia and Concordia, Missouri as well as Forreston, Illinois. Once a year, the entire company gathers for “BranchFest”, a highlight of the year for many Branchers.

About the Insurance Product Management Principal role

At Branch, our Product team shapes insurance offerings built for longevity, grounded in risk awareness, and centered on our Members. As an Insurance Product Management Principal, you'll serve as Branch's highest-level individual contributor in personal lines product strategy: a recognized expert internally and across the industry, setting the standard for how we think about pricing, product, and underwriting at a company-defining scale.

This role is built for someone who doesn't just navigate complexity, they define how the organization approaches it. You'll establish the frameworks, elevate the thinking, and influence the decisions that shape Branch's long-term competitive position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product-side execution of Branch’s catastrophe risk management function: evolving the grid concentration framework, advancing PML-to-premium portfolio optimization, and ensuring exposure data quality and model-vintage alignment across catastrophe modeling vendors.

  • Translate catastrophe model output into business decisions, partnering with reinsurance brokers, actuarial, and senior leadership to connect concentration management, reinsurance structure, and capital efficiency to product and growth strategy.

  • Drive strategic execution of product and pricing initiatives across multiple states and lines of business, ensuring alignment with Branch’s long-term growth and profitability goals.

  • Translate pricing and product concepts into filing-ready documentation and partner with actuarial and compliance teams to prepare SERFF filings.

  • Develop scalable systems and frameworks that improve product performance management, regulatory execution, and operational efficiency.

  • Act as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert on personal lines product strategy, influencing decision-making across Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Compliance.

  • Synthesize complex data and regulatory insights into clear, actionable recommendations that shape market strategy and state performance.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with actuarial, engineering, underwriting, and data teams to design tools and systems that improve product speed-to-market and performance visibility.

  • Lead through expertise by modeling best practices, shaping team standards, and mentoring peers in strategic problem-solving and execution.

  • Monitor market and regulatory developments, anticipating impacts and proposing proactive strategies that keep Branch competitive and compliant.

  • Translate business goals into operational solutions, balancing innovation with risk discipline to deliver durable, Member-focused products.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Hands-on catastrophe modeling expertise (e.g., Verisk/AIR, RMS, KCC), including exposure data preparation, model output validation, and communicating PML, AAL, and concentration metrics to non-technical stakeholders; ACAS, CPCU, and either CEEM, CSCR, CCRMP, or CCRA designations strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to make complex catastrophe risk and reinsurance structures transparent and actionable for a broad set of business stakeholders.

  • 10+ years of experience in Personal Lines, with a demonstrated record of shaping strategy and driving results across multiple states, lines, and market conditions.

  • Recognized as a principal-level expert in personal lines insurance: someone peers, partners, and leadership look to as the definitive voice on complex product and pricing challenges.

  • Deep fluency in pricing methodologies, underwriting frameworks, and the regulatory landscape, with the ability to architect solutions in ambiguous environments where conventional approaches fall short.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable systems, processes, or tools that improve how product teams operate.

  • Strong analytical and storytelling ability; able to transform data into insights that influence business direction.

  • Recognized as a thought leader or subject matter expert in personal lines insurance; comfortable advising leadership and guiding peers.

  • Skilled collaborator who builds trust and alignment across technical and non-technical teams.

  • High degree of autonomy and ownership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

  • Expert written and verbal communication skills.
