As the Research Engineer for all.health, you will be responsible for but not limited to supervising and managing trials, obtaining informed consent, and collecting biometric data from subjects. You will also work together with engineers, scientists, and medical personnel to create and follow research protocols.
This role is based out of our San Francisco office and will be required to be onsite full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage approximately 1-2 dozen small trials in progress at any one time
  • In charge of overall management of data collection projects and prioritize efforts to deliver on time
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality deliverables and high data integrity during the trials
  • Collect biometric data from subjects using wearable research devices and a phone-based application
  • Obtain informed consent for low risk and non-invasive protocols in generally healthy adults
  • Effectively capture and label data sets utilizing strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Occasionally gather data in hospital settings, research labs, exercise labs, or outdoors
  • Create and follow research protocols in addition to mastering basic device troubleshooting
  • Ensure the scientific accuracy of research outcomes and data gathering

Technical Requirements

  • Good understanding of math / statistics to understand and implement study size and throughput calculations, to set and keep study enrollment schedules
  • Experience with organizational tools (Excel, Word) to generate reports on study stage and progress
  • Capable of executing data queries and analysis scripts from a terminal
  • Experience in data analysis, signal processing, data visualization and programming using tools like MATLAB, Python, etc. is preferred

  • Experience generating clear reports; especially sending batch reports to stakeholders describing the status of studies
  • Excellent communication skills to describe possible solutions to medical, technical, and product stakeholders
  • Skilled in managing multiple workflows, staying aligned with varying priorities, and working in a small team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Creative problem solving
  • Experience working with wearable and clinical grade devices
  • Experience with human research in a lab setting
  • Comfort or experience interacting with medical personnel is highly desirable
The target annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
